Being a patient can be a confusing and frustrating journey. You may feel like you have tried “everything” to resolve your health condition or you may be confused about what to even try next. Trying to determine the best diet, supplements or medications for your condition can become an overwhelming task. I know how you feel as I have been there myself.

Starting over a decade ago, I began to suffer from various health ailments. After seeing some of the best specialists in my area, I was no better than when I started. The day I stepped into my first functional medicine doctor’s office, I knew I was finally in the right place. My physician had been trained to understand the complexities of my own personal health challenges and look for the root cause of my symptoms. Through working with functional medicine practitioners, I came to understand the importance of having a guide along the path to healing and the importance of addressing all aspects of an individual’s life that can contribute to illness.

Education/Qualifications:

I am grateful for my initial training in family medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, which gave me an excellent foundation in allopathic medicine, while also giving me the opportunity to begin my exploration into the world of holistic medicine.

I can easily recommend Dr. Kapadia very highly because she truly is a wonderful person and an excellent doctor.

Since completing my training in Philadelphia, I have worked in various settings over the last 10 years, including working in an inner city primary care clinic, working with veterans at various VA hospitals in the US, and seeing patients in an urgent care setting. I have concurrently pursued training through the Institute for Functional Medicine and The American Academy of Environmental Medicine. I am also certified by the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine (ABIHM).

At Kwan Yin Healing Arts Center, I combine western and functional medicine diagnostics with traditional and complementary therapies to help patients reach their health goals.

How can I help you?

Regardless of your diagnosis, I will work with you to help you get to the root causes of your symptoms. As one of my patients said, this is like detective work where we work together to uncover each and every identifiable trigger for your symptoms.

Thanks to working with Dr. Kapadia, I was able to experience life without any reactions in years and learn what my triggers are.

The areas we explore include: nutrition, stress, emotional well-being, dysbiosis (including parasites, SIBO/SIFO/yeast imbalance), chronic infections (tick-borne exposures, viral re-activation), environmental exposures, and allergens. I also offer guidance on dietary modifications to determine what would most suit you and your condition.

I have a special interest in the following health issues and I pay particular attention to the role of food intolerance and environmental exposures in these conditions:

  • digestive disorders (IBS, IBD, GERD, eosinophilic esophagitis, etc.)
  • skin disorders (acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, etc.)
  • asthma/allergies (food and environmental)
  • autoimmune disease

**PLEASE NOTE: Dr. Kapadia does NOT work as a primary care doctor. She DOES work as a complementary care provider—-she is available to provide a holistic view and treatment plan for a variety of disorders. She is happy to coordinate care with your primary care doctor and work with all of your providers.
